Handmade, Mixed-Media Wall Art: Firelight

Why Firelight for a name? Because the glitter evokes flame - so says my daughter, who often names my art. It’s extra fitting because firelight started as a painting with imperfections, like we all have. I’ve learned to embrace imperfections in life and did so in Firelight. Just as I have literally burned past traumas in fire. I used glitter and resin to beautify some of Firelights’ imperfections - turning them into flames of beauty. I purposefully left a few small cracks through the painting because imperfections are perfection. Firelight is 10x20 and glows so beautifully, in part, because she is finished with an epoxy resin coating on the canvas.
